'Autumn Harvest' Polwarth or Corriedale Cross Roving

$22.00

Hand dyed Spinning roving. This roving is Corriedale Cross. It is dyed in the colors of the colorway 'Autumn Harvest' in fall green, brown, gold, orange and reds.

Corriedale Cross has a micron count of 27 and a staple length of 3-6 inches. It is from New Zealand. Corriedale Cross wool is originally from Australia and New Zealand where farmers crosses Merino ewes with Lincoln or Leicester males. The fleeces are densely packed but each fiber is thicker than their merino counterpart. Corriedale Cross has a beautiful natural luster to it. With long staple length and a springy crimp, this wool is perfect for learning how to spin and also great for advanced spinners. It will also felt easily. Even though it is 27 microns, I find it next-to-skin soft. I would wear it that way, and I'm pretty picky about softness.
Also available is Polwarth in this coloway. A next-to-skin-soft wool.
